Magnificent Severn Play to Aid Centre
Wotton Electric Picture House will be the venue for an evening of stunning classical music performed by Severn Strings.
Severn Strings are a professional ensemble capable of enlarging to the Severn Strings Chamber Orchestra, musicians of the highest calibre.
Four of these musicians will be performing at the community cinema to raise money for Wotton Heritage Centre.
Two of the musicians are sisters Justine and Julliet Tomlinson, born and brought up in Wotton, who won music scholarships to Westonbirt School.
Since then they have studied at the Royal Academy of Music and won numerous prizes and awards.
On the night – Tuesday, July 8 – Nicola King will play flute, Justine Tomlinson violin, Julliet Tomlinson cello and David Ponsford harpsichord.
The programme will include pieces by Teleman, Bach, Schubert, Blauet, Vivaldi and Mozart.
Tickets are pounds8.50 in advance and pounds10 on the door, available at the cinema in Market Street or Castle Estate Agents, Long Street, and includes light refreshments.

Wotton Art Club hold its annual exhibition on Saturday, July 5, and Sunday, July 6, and a preview evening on the Friday at the Civic Centre, Bradley Street.
Professional and amateur artists will be exhibiting in all media. The paintings – framed and unframed – will be for sale.
The event will raise money for Cotswold Care Hospice with a percentage of sales going to the worthy cause.
The sun shone on the British School last Saturday for the annual June Fling. The event was themed around the 1960s era to tie in with the school’s current history work.
Stalls, karaoke, It’s a Knockout competition and music from the Blow Away Band added to the festivities. The grand total was pounds3,500.
A fisherman’s lunch will be held at the Parish Room on Friday, from noon until 1pm. Proceeds will go to the Bible Society. Tickets cost pounds3 from Beryl on 01453 843 815.
Blue Coat School Summer Fair is on Saturday, from 11.30am to 3pm on the school grounds. There will be a raffle, stalls, barbecue and entertainment.
