OAPs Get in the Swing

July 2, 2008

THESE sprightly pensioners certainly got into the swing of things when Braehead put on a weekend of jazz bands.

Teresa Chalmers, 84, and her companion, 82-year-old Patrick McGonigle, were enjoying the music so much they couldn’t resist having an impromptu dance in the middle of the shopping centre.

The jazz bands were playing at Braehead to coincide with the Glasgow International Jazz Festival.

Teresa, of Vanguard Way, Renfrew, said: “The jazz bands are great – I just love it.

“When I heard the music I couldn’t keep my feet at peace. Even though I’m 84, I still love to dance.”
