Perfect Party Would Feature Country Star and Wrinkled Rockers Classy Myleene Wants the Chippendales at Wedding
By RUSSELL LEADBETTER and JAMES WATT
MYLEENE KLASS could have afforded any sort of entertainment for her wedding reception – and she has opted for a star turn by the Chippendales.
The male strippers will provide excitement as the TV star and model gets hitched to bouncer Graham Quinn later this year.
Myleene, who rose to fame with Hear’Say, believes the muscled troupe would be ideal to celebrate her tying the knot.
“We’ll definitely have The Chippendales at our reception, ” she said.
A friend of Myleene’s adds:
“She just wants a few laughs on her big day.”
Myleene is hardly the first person to pick a well-known name to star at a private function.
Destiny’s Child performed just such a gig recently, reputedly for a million dollars.
This is clearly a field in which money doesn’t just talk, it bellows right in your ear.
In the past, luminaries such as the Eagles, Bob Dylan, Elton John, the Rolling Stones and Rod Stewart have all appeared at private or corporate events.
Last year, Glasgow businessman Michael Mone, husband of bra boss Michelle, had his 40th birthday celebrations spiced up by the surprise appearance of X Factor star Leona Lewis.
Leona flew from Los Angeles to sing Happy Birthday to Michael at Club 29 in Glasgow – at GBP100,000 for fi ve songs.
A few weeks earlier, Steve Schwarzman splashed out halfa-million pounds so that Rod Stewart could entertain his guests at his 60th birthday bash.
Don’t feel too sorry for Steve:
he is one of America’s wealthiest men.
George Michael once made about dollars-3million an hour for a 75- minute private gig in Moscow.
And a New York defence contractor reportedly hired gangster rapper 50 Cent and the Eagles’ Don Henley for his daughter’s bar mitzvah. The bill? dollars-10m.
We asked you: what star or singer would you hire to perform at your party?
MICHAEL SHEERIN, 66, retired, Newlands:
