THE “VAGABOND” ENTERTAINERS: The Vagabond Concert Party were a group of voluntary entertainers entertaining old folk and disabled people in their homes.

Kathleen Carr, secretary of the Vagabonds, said that they chose the name because they wanted to roam around entertaining people. Kathleen and fellow Vagabond Paul Medhurst are pictured with residents Willie Day and Ada Plummer when they put on a show at Derwent House in Billingham in January 1984
