‘Survivor’ Casting Call at Tanger Outlets on U.S. 17

Jul. 9–Dreaming of a $1 million prize?

The Tanger Outlets Center on U.S. 17 at S.C. 22 will have an open casting call for the CBS reality show “Survivor” from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday.

The registration tent and audition taping area will be set up between the Old Navy and Tommy Hilfiger stores, in the center by the food court.

Any U.S. citizen 18 or older can pick up an application the day of the event or print one from www.cbs.com/primetime/survivor16/about/casting.php

The audition tapes will be two-minute live interviews, according to Tanger officials, and applicants are not required to bring a photo or passport, as the CBS Web site states.

No overnight camping is permitted in the shopping center, but cones will be set up Friday morning for the lines of people expected, said Tanger’s Nicole Tolbert. No other auditions are scheduled in the Southeast.

The application states about 800 hopefuls from across the nation might then be invited to interview in August in one of 10 large cities, then about 48 will proceed to interviews in September in Los Angeles. Sixteen finalists will be selected for filming of the show, scheduled from late October to mid-December.

Contestants will be selected based upon having these traits: strong-willed; outgoing; adventurous; physically and mentally adept; adaptable to new environments; and Interesting lifestyles, backgrounds and personalities, the form states.
