Waiter Shortlisted for Writing Prize

A London waiter says doesn’t intend to quit his job if he wins the $120,000 Dylan Thomas writing prize for which he has been nominated.
The London Times said 27-year-old Ross Raisin, who works part-time at Smith’s of Smithfield, was one of 16 writers to make the short list for the biennial award. The winner is to be announced in November.
Raisin was nominated for his debut novel, God’s Own Country.
Writing is pretty isolated, whereas at the restaurant there are always people around and it’s much more fun, Raisin told The Times.
