Festival Shows City’s Respect for Worldwide Music
World music drew thousands of people of all ages and backgrounds to the Exeter Phoenix arts centre for a series of performances and workshops.
The weekend events were the culmination of the annual Exeter Respect Festival, which is staged at the venue every year.
The Big Respect Weekender started on Friday with the city’s biggest line-up of urban music stars to date and continued with a family day on Saturday.
Festival co-ordinator Paul Giblin said: “It was fantastic. One of the most popular performers was an African acrobat called Fabulous Jambo Jambo.”
There was also a world music night on Saturday while all day yesterday the theme was rock.
