Quark, a developer of desktop publishing and dynamic publishing software, has acquired the assets of In.vision Research, a software company that develops add-in to Microsoft Word for XML authoring.
As part of this acquisition, Quark also gains products that support industry standards such as DITA and SPL (structured product labeling, an initiative of the US FDA), which helps Quark access other markets and applications. In addition, In.vision will enhance Quark's ability to connect to enterprise content management systems, especially Microsoft SharePoint.
Ray Schiavone, CEO of Quark, said: "Uniting our two companies creates an ideal combination of complementary products, technologies and knowledge. By combining In.vision's user-friendly authoring capability with our professional publishing expertise, we are confident that Quark dynamic publishing solution will be one of the most comprehensive and compelling solutions available today."
