Changing Tide at New Wave
BURBANK, Calif., July 18 /PRNewswire/ — New Wave Entertainment announced today that Alan Baral has left his position as co-CEO as of July 3rd, but will continue with New Wave as a consultant as he pursues opportunities outside the company. Co-CEO Paul Apel will remain with the company, assuming responsibility for its day-to-day operation.
Baral joined New Wave in 1993 as the Head of Business Affairs and became a partner in 1998. During their tenure as partners, Apel and Baral successfully expanded and diversified the company, growing from 2 divisions to over 200 employees within 6 divisions, creating one of Hollywood’s largest independent production, marketing and creative service companies.
“Alan and I have been friends and colleagues for almost fifteen years. It has been incredible to share our successes together,” says Apel. “Alan is a renaissance man. He is a brilliant businessman, lawyer, musician, and artist. He will truly be missed.”
Baral says, “I am very proud of our accomplishments with New Wave. I made wonderful friends and we produced incredible work. I now look forward to some new challenges.”
Apel went on to say, “We have a strong infrastructure with talented division heads that have been with the company an average of seven years. They will each be taking a greater role in the running and direction of New Wave.”
