Chinese Turtle to Make a Splash

July 21, 2008

AN EVENT at the River Festival called Silk Screens is based on the Chinese artistic view of water.

It will involve a giant moving turtle and performances from professional and community Chinese artists.

Meanwhile, on Sunday, EastEnders star June Brown, who plays Dot Cotton, will launch thousands of yellow plastic ducks into the Clyde. The ducks are sponsored and it is hoped they will raise a large amount of money for charity.

Both BBC Scotland and STV are inviting visitors to their riverside HQs at the weekend.

At the BBC marquee there will be the chance to read the news alongside Reporting Scotland presenters and meet CBBC’s Raven and Nina from the TV show Nina and the Neurons.

STV is opening its doors for a look behind the scenes of its state-of-the-art studios.
