Crimp Complex to Get Makeover
By KEAN, Nicola
LOUIS CRIMP’S Tay St entertainment complex is getting a facelift.
Formerly the Globe nightclub and the Thirsty Kiwi pub, the complex includes the Gluepot, Bacchus and the Lido bars.
Invercargill businessman Mr Crimp said the renovations were to improve the complex.
“We’re gutting it and are going to put all sort of fancy things in there.” The “fancy things” included bingo facilities, pool tables, pokie machines, a miniature movie theatre and a Saturday Night Fever-style dance floor. The dance floor would have different coloured lights that would change with the music, he said.
The renovations were expected to be completed in October. Mr Crimp declined to comment on how much the renovation would cost.
