Arts Council to Screen ‘To Kill a Mockingbird’
CALAIS – The St. Croix River Valley Arts Council’s film society is screening “To Kill a Mockingbird” at 7 p.m. Friday, July 25, at the Holmestead, 527 Main Street.
Gregory Peck won an Academy Award for his role as Atticus Finch, the courageous lawyer in a small Southern town during the Great Depression, who takes on the task of defending an innocent black man in spite of hate and prejudice. The 1962 film won three Oscars and many other awards. There is no admission charge, although donations are suggested.
