July 23, 2008

WARWICK town centre will be the place for music and dance this weekend as performers take to the streets in this year’s Folk Festival.

The event runs over Saturday and Sunday and includes concerts, art workshops and street entertainment.

Morris dancing, miming and clowning will be taking place in some of the town’s open spaces while there will be live music at many pubs and restaurants.

On Saturday, the main event is the gathering of morris teams at 2.45pm in Swan Street ready for a lively and noisy procession.

The craft market, in Smith Street, which is open from 9am-5pm, will include more than 30 stalls, shops, music and dancing.

On Sunday, there will be a free family gala from 11am-4pm. Free concerts will be held on Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon in Market Place. More details on 01926 614932 or visit www.warwickfolkfestival.co.uk
