Lifetime Planning Tribute to Estelle Getty

Lifetime Television says it plans to pay tribute to late U.S. actress Estelle Getty by showing a marathon of episodes from her TV series, The Golden Girls.
Getty died Tuesday at her home in Los Angeles at the age of 84.
Lifetime said it will air on Friday afternoon 10 Golden Girls episodes showcasing Getty’s character of Sophia in all her blustering, sarcastic splendor, beginning with the show’s pilot.
The last episode to air at 4:30 p.m. (ET/PT) will be the No. 1 favorite Sophia episode, as decided by her fans who can vote at myLifetime.com.
The Golden Girls premiered in reruns on Lifetime in 1997 and airs weekdays from 9-10 a.m., 4-5 p.m. and 1-2 a.m., all EDT/PDT.
