‘Times’ Tours Music Hall in Portsmouth
By Sarah Earle
The Music Hall in Portsmouth got its day in the sun this week, when a pair of Pulitzer Prize-winning journalists from the New York Times visited the historic theater. Columnist Dan Barry and photojournalist Angel Franco took extensive tours of the 1878 facility, which has been undergoing major renovations since 2003. Their story appeared in Monday’s edition of the Times as part of the series “This Land,” and photos and excerpts ran front and center on the paper’s website. The article, which examines the bits and pieces of history unearthed during renovations, can be viewed by searching for “Portsmouth Music Hall” at nytimes.com.
