Peter Berg to Helm ‘Hercules’ Flick

Hollywood filmmaker Peter Berg reportedly is producing and plans to direct Hercules: The Thracian Wars, a big-screen adaptation of a new comic-book series.
Variety.com said the movie is inspired by Steve Moore’s five-issue series, which premiered in May.
What resonated for (Berg and the producers) was that this was character driven, about a character who’s more man than god, with conflicts and redemption, producer Barry Levine told the entertainment industry trade paper.
Berg is also set to direct and produce a new adaptation of Frank Herbert’s science-fiction classic, Dune.
Berg’s previous films include Hancock, The Kingdom, Friday Night Lights and Very Bad Things.
