Artist Offering ‘Bullet Proof Comedy’

July 26, 2008

PARIS – Physical comedian Tom Murphy will bring his bagful of disciplines, including a quirky acting style, acrobatics, dance and various circus arts, to Celebration Barn Theater Saturday, July 26.

Dubbed by critics as “The Chaos Poet,” he will present his show, “Murphy’s Law: Bullet Proof Comedy,” beginning at 8 p.m.

Murphy’s style is upfront, honest-to-goodness, in-your-face – yet sensitive – physical comedy. His formal training in physical education and ballet spawned a unique style of theater that blends athleticism with emotions. And, it’s slapstick.

He has toured primarily in Europe and the United States, where he developed a solid reputation as a theater clown. He is no stranger to Broadway either, where he has performed his solo show at the New Victory Theater.

The show is geared to the entire family.

Reservations are required and may be made by calling the box office at 743-8452. Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for seniors and $8 for students and children. Celebration Barn Theater is on Stock Farm Road, just off Route 117. For more information, visit www.CelebrationBarn.com.
