Sympathy for the Old Devil
MICK JAGGER officially hits pension age today, when he reaches the grand old age of 65.
But the Rolling Stone, who famously "can't get no satisfaction," shows no sign of slowing down in his twilight years. Though it is understood that rather than having a lavish party, the singer is celebrating quietly with friends and family.
He was also executive producer on the Rolling Stones film Shine A Light.
The rubber-lipped figurehead for 1960s rebellion has also graced the cover of Saga magazine.
ACTOR Sean Bean spent the night in a police cell over allegations that he assaulted his wife.
Police were called to the 49-year-old star's home in north London on Thursday night, following a claim of domestic assault. Bean was taken to a police station and bailed on Friday morning before being told no further action would be taken.
Actress Ms Sutcliffe told a national newspaper: "He was arrested.
Everything was blown out of proportion.
There's no problem between us."
THE SEARCH began today for a telegenic maths expert to replace Countdown presenter Carol Vorderman, who is stepping down after 26 years on the Channel 4 gameshow. Her decision follows the announcement on Wednesday that Des O'Connor, the host of Countdown, is also to quit.
