The Street’s Extras Get the Nod
By Tam Cowan
I’M still struggling to take Coronation Street seriously after the recent Tom and Jerry sound effect when Michelle “punched” Steve in the Rovers.
Did you catch that little nugget of TV gold?
However, I’ll stay tuned to my No.1 soap if only to keep an eye on my favourite characters – the “extras” in the pub, Audrey’s hair salon and Dev’s corner shop, who aren’t allowed to speak… and communicate 24/7 with a series of nods, smiles and waves.
Meanwhile, fellow Corrie fan Stephen Massey wants to know how love-rat John Stape got a job as a taxi-driver. Considering he keeps telling Fiz she’s absolutely gorgeous, surely he must be as blind as a bat?
According to yesterday’s paper, a dog that “vanished” 15 months ago is back with its owner in Rosyth. Call me a cynic, but I won’t rejoice until we know for a fact it didn’t own a canoe…
Meanwhile, a pool-playing collie that appeared on Britain’s Got Talent has died after being run over by its owner.
If they have a talent contest in doggy heaven, perhaps it will now have a go at squash.
