Hospitalized Bernie Mac is responding well to treatment for pneumonia, the Chicago comedian and actor's publicist says.
The 50-year-old performer is best known for his work on The Bernie Mac Show, as well as for his roles in the films Transformers, Head of State, Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle and Ocean's Eleven and its two sequels.
A source told the Chicago Sun-Times that Mac was in very, very critical condition Saturday.
Although his publicist Danica Smith said the next day that Mac remained in the same condition, she also said he is responding well to treatment and is expected to leave the hospital soon, the Sun-Times said Monday.
