Area is Focus of Film
A DOCUMENTARY tackling issues such as drug dealing and unemployment in Spon End was aired in Coventry this week.
Spon End was a short film produced by youngsters from the area as part of the Neighbourhood Matters Film Project 2008.
It explored the lives and experiences of people in the area.
The documentary, which was produced, directed, filmed and edited by a group of 11 to 13-year-olds from the community, was shown at the city’s Odeon cinema on Monday.
The youngsters used open and honest interviews with a diverse section of local residents and filmed many of the estate’s ageing tower blocks.
Work started on the documentary in October last year.
