Music Treat for Youngsters

August 6, 2008

YOUNGSTERS interested in making music will be cutting their own CDs as part of a scheme to support the talents of Warwickshire children in care.

They will be songwriting, recording music and designing record covers as part of the project at the Band Factory studio, in Althorpe Street, Leamington.

The drop-in sessions will run from 10am-4pm on Thursday, August 14.

The county council’s Leaving Care Team in Rugby has already arranged for 10 young care leavers to take part in a two-day workshop.

Participants, many of whom have no musicmaking experience, will try out different bits of kit before splitting into smaller groups.

Their work will be recorded onto a CD for each of them to take home.
