Girls everywhere, get set to sparkle... when KOCH Records introduces "Barbie(TM) & The Diamond Castle," a shiny-new collection of upbeat pop songs based on the first "best friends"-themed Barbie(TM) musical movie! The new movie and CD release features "Connected" performed by Katharine McPhee. "Barbie(TM) & The Diamond Castle" soundtrack makes its national retail debut September 12, 2008.
Continuing to win the hearts of girls, Barbie Entertainment offers something exciting and new for every generation of fans. "Barbie(TM) & The Diamond Castle" is the newest release in the successful, popular Barbie(TM) entertainment franchise. For the first time, it gives Barbie(TM) a hip, updated sound, while introducing girls to the brand's timeless charm.
"Barbie is a beloved icon that transcends generations and we're thrilled to be part of the phenomenon," said Veronica Villarreal, Vice President of Marketing and Business Development for KOCH Records. "The music from the 'Barbie(TM) & The Diamond Castle' movie is truly terrific and 'in tune' with the enchantment and imagination that the enduring brand inspires among girls. This CD is the Barbie brand's first pop-style collection, and we are confident it will strike the perfect 'chord' with fans nationwide."
"Barbie(TM) & The Diamond Castle" CD features a dozen catchy numbers, including songs from the soon-to-be-released DVD movie of the same name, as well as additional Barbie(TM) hits from other Barbie(TM) movie favorites. Katharine McPhee makes a special guest appearance with an exclusive performance of "Connected."
Together, the songs on the CD set to music the story of Liana(TM) (Barbie(TM)) and her friend Alexa(TM) (Teresa(TM)), in a suspenseful fairy tale with a modern musical twist. Kids will love joining in on "Two Voices, One Song,""I Need to Know" and "We're Gonna Find It," as they learn about the true meaning of friendship. And two special renditions -- acoustic and pop -- of "Believe" will have girls belting their hearts out.
Prior to the release of the CD and DVD, families can tune in for a sneak peek of "Barbie (TM) & The Diamond Castle," airing on Nickelodeon, Sunday, September 7. A complete line of toys and licensed products is available now.
The extensive KOCH catalog includes some of the most popular names in kid's entertainment such as "Sesame Street,""The Wiggles" and "Thomas the Tank" among many others. Barbie(TM) & The Diamond Castle will be available at major retailers, including Wal-Mart, Toys R' Us, Barnes & Noble, Amazon for an SRP of $9.98 per CD.
