Top Quality Crafts on Show

Contemporary designer crafts are delighting visitors to the Gloucestershire Guild of Craftsmen's annual exhibition in Painswick.

The show of work by some of the finest craftspeople in the county runs at the Painswick Centre until August 25.

So there is still time to see the top quality silver, glassware, furniture, pottery and similar treats.

The guild is also marking its 75th anniversary in 2008 and the month long Painswick display is just the start of a year long programme of celebration.

Former guild chairman, potter Colin Gerard from Nailsworth, said: "New members work is well featured and a novel thing is that we are exhibiting work from two groups of craft graduates."

Guest silversmith Chien-wei Chang's spoons and ladles were outstanding, said Mr Gerard. They were displayed alongside fellow guests Max Suffield, an environmental artist and craftsman, and Loco Glass, makers of contemporary glassware.
