Thespians on the Road — St. George’s Students Attend Fest in Nebraska
By Trish Dianetti
Scott Duff, director of theater arts for St. George’s Independent School, and Anne Cook, middle school director, traveled to Lincoln, Neb., with several students from St. George’s for the International Thespian Society Festival.
Students participated in a variety of workshops including playwriting, improvisation, physical theater, stage combat, theater as a social voice, auditioning and Shakespeare.
The group attended two performances each day ranging from Broadway musicals to intense dramas, farce to a concert production of “Sweeney Todd,” each performed by high school students from across the country.
“It was extremely energizing to see what these young artists accomplished,” Duff commented.
“I cannot wait for the day when St. George’s brings a production to the festival in Nebraska.”
