A Cheltenham in Bloom 2008 winner’s garden at 48 Leyson Road, The Reddings, is open today from noon un til 4pm. Monies raised go to the Air Ambulance. I am informed that this is a really lovely garden and well worth a visit.

The Greenbelt Festival of music and performing arts with a Christian bias is being held this weekend at the racecourse.

Tivoli Probus Club will not be meeting this coming bank holiday Monday.

The Tidy Cheltenham Group meet on Wednesday in Pittville Meeting Room at the Municipal Offices at the earlier start of 6pm.

The exhibition of mixed media, figurative and landscape paintings on show at the Gardens Gallery from Wednesday for one week is by Ralph Naden.

If you are looking for an interest during the autumn then a beginners’ French course may be of interest. It is held at Christ Church Hall in Malvern Road, begins on Thursday September 25 and runs until November 20 from 10.30am to 12.15pm. Further information is available if you phone 01452 502752.

Later in the day from 2.30pm to 4.15pm another class, Further Your French With Fun, is held at the same place for people who already have some knowledge of French.

The Farmers’ Market will be in The Promenade on Friday from 9am to 3pm.

The Band of Gloucestershire Constabulary will be play in the afternoon on Sunday August 31.
