ValCom Continues Expansion — Increasing Revenue Reach
ValCom, Inc. (PINKSHEETS: VLCO), a leader in media facilities and content for television programming and related services, announced the stock and cash acquisition of Chameleon Communications Group, an established fixed and mobile teleport operator based at the group's headquarters in Clearwater. The satellite communications company will increase ValCom's short-term revenues by over one million dollars annually.
Holding long-term contracts with domestic and international broadcasters, Chameleon also provides uplink services for major sporting events including football and basketball as well as ad hoc work for all the major domestic news networks. Chameleon offers digital and analog transportable C-band a KU-band uplink, teleport facilities, DS3 internet connection and digital video fiber transport. In addition the company provides all the satellite services needed by other group companies including AAN, Family TV and FNN and third party services as the preferred provider for Florida-based college basketball and the NFL. It also provides uplink services for a number of TV networks including international broadcasters on long-term, multi-year contracts.The facility recently provided support for the live, multinational event "Pangea Day" from Sony Studios in Culver City, CA which was transmitted simultaneously to 154 countries.
