VH1.Com Launches Ticket Give-Away for Upcoming New Kids on the Block Concerts
NEW YORK, Aug. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Calling all New Kids on the Block fans! Beginning today, VH1.com is accepting submissions in the "New Kids on the Block Ultimate Fan Contest," where four winners will be chosen to attend a New Kids on the Block concert and meet with the band in one of four cities -- Boston, Las Vegas, New York or Seattle -- this fall.
To enter, users can visit the VH1 Blog at NKOTB.VH1.com and submit a photo of themselves or a group photo and 50 words or less that describes the craziest thing they ever did as a NKOTB fan.
In round one a winner and four friends will receive VIP tickets to the NKOTB show in Boston on 9/28/08, a meet and greet with the band and transportation to and hotel accommodation in Boston. In subsequent rounds the winner and one guest will receive VIP tickets to a show in either Las Vegas, New York or Seattle, a meet and greet with the band and transportation to and hotel accommodation in the host city.
Additionally, on September 2, 2008 the New Kids on the Block are releasing The Block, their first album together in almost 15 years. Featuring the first single, the hit mellow jam "Summertime," the album also features collaborations with some of the biggest names in pop music. R&B superstar Ne-Yo appears on "Single," the follow-up to "Summertime." Other collaborations include "Grown Man" (with The Pussycat Dolls and uber-producer Teddy Riley), "Put It on My Tab" (with the ubiquitous Akon), "Big Girl Now" (with NY dance-pop diva Lady GaGa) and the much-buzzed about "Full Service" (with fellow supergroup New Edition).
NKOTB are also gearing up for an exclusive 90-minute live event, "New Kids on the Block: A Behind The Music Special Event" premiering on VH1, September 28 at 8PM (ET/PT). In a first-of-its-kind production, the special will celebrate the history of the New Kids on the Block while also documenting their inspired 2008 reunion in their own words. Interspersed throughout the special will be live reports from Boston, counting down until VH1 airs a live broadcast of the first three songs from the world-renowned group's sold out concert at the TD Banknorth Garden in their hometown of Boston, Massachusetts.
