Multichannel Arabic Internet TV Launches
Internet TV operators JumpTV and NeuLion announced on 25 August the launch of an online, subscription-based Arabic TV offering.The service - Talfazat.com - "delivers the largest selection of live and on-demand Arabic television content available anywhere", the North America-based operators said in a press release.
Talfazat "features more than 35 of the most popular channels and thousands of hours of video-on-demand from leading Arabic content providers including Dubai TV, LBC, Al-Jazeera news, Al-Jazeera English, Rotana, Future TV, New TV, 2M and many others".
The service "has exclusive IPTV rights to stream television programming to viewers globally and many of the channels are not offered anywhere else".
The operators said the launch had been organized to coincide with the holy month of Ramadan.
Talfazat plans to launch a set-top box, which will let viewers see the content on a TV set, as well as a computer.
The service's website - http://www.talfazat.com - is available in English and Arabic.
