Samba Stars Hope to Drum Up Dancers During Mela Festival
A BAND of 40 young samba drummers from Leith hope to get their audience dancing when they perform at the Mela festival, at Ocean Terminal.
The group, Pulse of the Place, are based at Duncan Place Resource Centre, and their usual 25 members will be swelled by extra musicians for this one-off show.
The band have had a busy year, taking to the stage at the Festival Theatre to open the City of Edinburgh Council’s Fanfare Concert, and also took part in Liverpool’s European Capital of Culture Lord Mayor’s Parade alongside Liverpool Samba School.
They will perform at 3.30pm on Sunday.
