‘90210’ Series to Follow Familiar Script

The upcoming "90210" U.S. TV series is being advertised as having essentially the same script outline of the original "Beverly Hills, 90210."

The New York Daily News said Sunday that in addition to being a spin-off of the popular Fox series, the upcoming series from The CW will follow the 1990s hit by also introducing a Midwestern family relocating to Beverly Hill, Calif.

While the original "90210" focused on uptight parents and featured a nearly all-white cast, the new series will feature cool parents and an interracial cast.

The Daily News said the original series, which lasted nine seasons, got off to an inauspicious start following its premiere in 1990 as Fox officials decided to promote the short-lived sitcom "Parker Lewis Can't Lose" over the drama.
