Midtowner Scott Duff, director of theater arts, and Anne Cook, middle school director, traveled to Lincoln, Neb., with several students from St. George’s Independent School for the International Thespian Society Festival. Students participated in a variety of workshops including play-writing, improvisation, physical theater, stage combat, theater as a social voice, auditioning, and Shakespeare.

The group attended two performances each day ranging from Broadway musicals to intense dramas, farce to a concert production of Sweeney Todd, each performed by high school students from across the country. Scott Duff commented, “It was extremely energizing to see what these young artists accomplished. I cannot wait for the day when St. George’s brings a production to the festival in Nebraska.”

Trish Dianetti is assistant director of communications for St. George’s.
