THE Peak District and Derbyshire has launched a new Movie Map, aimed at movie fans who want to get closer to both the making and the real-life story of Keira Knightley’s new film The Duchess.

The movie, which hits the screens on September 5, stars Keira as the notorious Georgiana (born Lady Georgiana Spencer), who went on to become the Duchess of Devonshire and Ralph Feinnes as the Duke of Devonshire.

One of the main locations on the self-guided tour is Chatsworth, “home” of the Cavendish family for more than 450 years.

A current exhibition holds costumes from the film, pictures of the set at Chatsworth, and display boards about Georgiana. Most of the cast stayed at Breadsall Priory Hotel, on the outskirts of Derby Keira Knightley meanwhile, stayed at the self-catering Hurdlow Grange Cottage in Longnor, with boyfriend Rupert Friend.

Free copies of the Movie Map are available by phoning Matlock Tourist Information Centre (01629-583388) or by e-mailing matlockinfo @ derbyshiredales.gov.uk. For more information, visit www.visitpeak district.com/film
