Eileen Ivers & Immigrant Soul to Perform Saturday, September 6th at the Orange County Great Park
IRVINE, Calif., Sept. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Eileen Ivers, the sizzling Celtic violinist and musical star of "Riverdance," will perform at the Orange County Great Park on Saturday, September 6th at 8:00 p.m. as part of the Great Park Night Flight Concert Series. Ivers will perform with championship Irish step dancers from the Butler-Fearon-O'Connor School of Irish Dance in Orange County. Attendance and parking are free to the public.
Called the "Jimi Hendrix of the violin" by The New York Times, Eileen Ivers has established herself as the pre-eminent exponent of the Irish fiddle in the world today. She has performed with the London Symphony Orchestra, the National Symphony at The Kennedy Center, the Boston Pops, the Chieftains, Patti Smith, among others. She has performed for presidents and royalty worldwide.
In 1999, Eileen established Eileen Ivers & Immigrant Soul, a compelling mix of African and Latin percussion and bass, traditional Irish instruments, and soulful American vocals. The group, all American-born musicians who grew up in Irish immigrant communities, headlines major performing arts centers, guest stars with numerous symphony orchestras, performs at prominent festivals worldwide, and has appeared on national and international television.

The Butler-Fearon-O'Connor School of Irish Dance is one of the top Irish dance schools in the world. Founded in 2003 as a result of a merge between the world-famous Butler-Fearon School of Canada and California, and the O'Connor-Kennedy School in California, it has quickly become the premier school in the western US and eastern Canada, as well as internationally. The Orange County Great Park opened July 14, 2007 with the launch of the iconic Orange County Great Park Balloon.
