Image Entertainment Acquires Worldwide Rights to New K.D. Lang Concert
Image Entertainment, Inc. (NASDAQ:DISK), a leading independent licensee, producer and distributor of home entertainment programming in North America, announced today it has acquired the rights to k.d. lang’s February 2008, live concert with the BBC Concert Orchestra, filmed in state-of-the-art sound and video. The DVD, k.d. lang With the BBC concert orchestra: LIVE IN LONDON, is expected to be released on DVD and Blu-Ray February 3, 2009, and hits retail stores following the release of Watershed, lang’s first studio release in more than eight years.
As part of its agreement with Direct Management Group, Inc., Image has secured all worldwide home video and digital rights to the concert, with the exception of Australia and New Zealand, and all worldwide broadcast rights, with the exception of Australia and the United Kingdom.
Featured songs include “I Dream of Spring,”"Helpless,”"Coming Home,”"Thread,”"Wash Me Clean,”"Western Stars,”"Pay Dirt,”"Jealous Dog,”"Sunday,”"Smoke Rings,”"Don’t Smoke in Bed,” and lang’s celebrated version of the Leonard Cohen classic, “Hallelujah.”

Filmed entirely at the 18th-century Hawksmoor church, LSO St Luke’s provides superb acoustics and a dramatic backdrop for this inspired show.
