Poland Wins Eurovision Dance Contest

Polish actor Marcin Mroczek and dancer Edyta Herbus earned a first place victory for their country in the Eurovision Dance Contest, officials say.
Eurovision TV director Bjorn Erichsen said the second incarnation of the Eurovision dance competition was a success as Poland edged out Russia and Ukraine for the top spot in the contest, which was initiated in Scotland the BBC reported Sunday.
"With this competition, we created a fantastic new Eurovision tradition, which we are confident will last for many years to come," Erichsen said after Saturday's show.
Millions of viewers watched the competition this weekend and their votes for the Michael Jackson hits-inspired routine by Mroczek and Herbus was the top vote-getter.
The contest was hosted by TV star Graham Norton and featured contestant pairs made up of a celebrity and a professional dancer, the BBC said.
Outside of the top three finishers, other countries that took part were Austria, Azerbaijan, Denmark, Finland, Greece, Ireland, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Portugal, Sweden and the United Kingdom.
