A Joyous Celebration of Brazil’s Independence
With traditional music, food and joyous dance performances, the 13th Brazilian Independence Day Festival capped off its fourth and final day at Boston’s Artesani Park yesterday.
Celebrating 186 years of freedom from Portugal, residents eagerly flocked toward the Charles River to partake in various sights and sounds of the largest South American nation, including a parade featuring popular Brazilian music acts and a performance from dance group Metamorfosis.
A ceremony was held earlier in the day at City Hall Plaza, where residents got to witness the hoisting of the Brazilian flag and listened to a performance of the Brazilian national anthem.
