Speakerheart Artists to Perform at Next BIG Nashville
Speakerheart(TM), an online platform for independent artists and bands to upload, promote and sell their own music, today announced that 17 of its artists and bands will perform at the annual Next BIG Nashville festival, Sept. 10-14, 2008, in multiple venues around Nashville.
"Speakerheart's reputation as an oasis for independent artists is unmatched," said Skip Franklin, SVP of Business Development for PassAlong Networks. "It makes perfect sense that Speakerheart artists represent such a large portion of Next BIG Nashville's lineup. Particularly within the Nashville community, Speakerheart has established itself as the go-to website for independent musicians to advance their craft."
The 17 Speakerheart artists and bands hail from a variety of backgrounds and cover a wide array of musical styles. The preliminary Next BIG Nashville artist lineup includes Speakerheart artists Aaron Robinson, Alva Leigh, Aron Wright, Andy Davis, David Condos, Emily DeLoach, Ferraby Lionheart, Joey & Rory, Katie Herzig, Levi Weaver, Matthew Perryman Jones, McClain, Nite Nite, Parachute Musical, Red White Blue, The Worsties and Tyler James. The entire Next BIG Nashville artist lineup includes more than 100 bands in all and has not yet been finalized.
Now in its third year, Next BIG Nashville brings together various components of the Nashville community, ranging from music business decision makers and associated artists to the city's eclectic and active fan base, for a week-long stint in the spotlight. What began as a simple showcase for Nashville's booming non-country scene has quickly grown into a music festival and conference that not only gives a deserving spotlight to the area's rock, pop, hip-hop, indie and roots artists but also brings together many of the more exciting elements of Nashville's dynamic and diverse music business community.
"Next BIG Nashville is a great venue for emerging artists to showcase their talent and attract new fans," said David Condos, a Speakerheart artist who performed at last year's event and is on the schedule again this year. Condos, who has had four songs featured on the hit MTV show "The Hills," added, "Last year I got to check out a lot of new artists, and I'm hoping to see even more shows this year."
During the 2007 Next BIG Nashville festival more than 9,000 fans witnessed 147 artists over five days in 12 venues. For more information check out http://www.nextbignashville.net.
