Torchwood Teasers Are Back in Bay
TORCHWOOD star John Barrowman gets to grips with being back in character as filming for the hit show’s new series continued.
And it appears as though the 41-year-old actor and singer is adopting a more hands-on role as he joked with co-star Eve Myles while they filmed in Cardiff Bay’s Oval Basin yesterday.
Swansea Valley-born Eve, 29, who plays feisty Gwen Cooper in the BBC show, said they were enjoying being back in Cardiff.
She said: “It’s exciting to be filming again in Cardiff.”
The third series of the Doctor Who spin-off, called Children of Earth, will have five episodes. It will star the show’s regular cast members, including John Barrowman as Captain Jack Harkness and Gareth David-Lloyd as Ian to Jones.
The BBC has also revealed there will be special guest appearances from familiar faces including Peter Capaldi, who has previously appeared in The Thick Of It and Doctor Who.
In Torchwood, he will play a civil servant, Mr Frobisher, who hides “a terrible secret”.
Series three will also feature Paul Copley, who has previously starred in Coronation Street and The Bill, as well as Bad Girls actress Liz May Brice, who will play a cynical covert government agent determined to expose Torch wood .The show will be aired in the 9pm slot on BBC1 on five consecutive nights next spring.
