Iranian Ministry Holding Nationwide Cultural Festival 31 Oct-10 Nov 08

Iranian Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance will be holding a cultural festival simultaneously in 30 Iranian provinces of the country from 31 October to 10 November, Khuzestan provincial TV said in a minute-long trailer on 10 September.

Khuzestan TV said the cultural festival was being held to coincide with the birthday anniversary of Imam Reza whose shrine is in the northeastern province of Khorasan.

Khuzestan TV and the website of the festival both listed the activities of each province. For example the festival in the northern province of Gilan will be devoted to an international weblog writing contest, and other provinces will deal with topics including play writing, photography, science and research and short stories. Tehran will host a press and news agency festival, Khuzestan TV said.
