Epicor Software Corporation (NASDAQ:EPIC), a leading provider of enterprise business software solutions for the midmarket and divisions of Global 1000 companies, today announced ClearVision Optical has selected the comprehensive, award-winning Epicor Enterprise suite to meet its strategic goals and better manage its business operations.

Family-owned ClearVision has operated for almost 60 years as one of the world’s leading distributors of prescription eyewear and sunwear. Operating throughout the United States and in 40 countries around the world, the company has consistently expanded its business while staying true to its mission of making a meaningful, positive impact on the lives of its customers, employees, business associates and the community.

As ClearVision’s business grew, the company found it had outgrown its legacy enterprise resource planning (ERP) system. In deciding to look at other ERP options, the company first developed its Key Buyer Values (KBV’s), defined as a set of high level system and partner requirements, and created a comprehensive evaluation formula to measure potential software providers. Examining the software marketplace, ClearVision conducted a 12-month search for a system that would meet its evolving business needs.

“After several rounds of evaluation, we chose Epicor,” said Karen Brush, director of special projects for ClearVision. “After completing a thorough due diligence process, we felt the Epicor team best understood our business requirements, that the product was robust, and that Epicor is committed to innovation.”

The Epicor solution will be a cornerstone in ClearVision’s effort to reposition technology from simply transactional support to a strategic driver for the company. The Epicor solution provides out-of-the-box business intelligence that will give them an enhanced view and understanding of their business and aid in decision making. Epicor will also empower ClearVision to more easily and effectively interact and support their customers, vendors, business partners and employees, and to take advantage of opportunities to increase business value.

“We are looking at IT as a strategic partner in driving operational efficiency throughout our organization, and the Epicor solution lays a solid foundation toward this initiative,” said Steve Lachenmeyer, chief operating officer for ClearVision. “With the true business insight the Epicor solution will provide, we’re making an investment in our future, empowering management with the information to make well-informed decisions faster. Ultimately, it’s about providing enhanced opportunities for our customers while increasing value for all stakeholders.”

“Epicor is committed to providing our customers with the robust functionality that is required in today’s competitive business climate,” said James Norwood, vice president of product marketing for Epicor. “We are pleased to have been selected by ClearVision as their business solution of choice and we look forward to providing the technology to help them take their business to the next level of success.”
