PlayPhone and National Geographic Captivate Mobile Users

The world’s most exciting and fascinating video, images and largest collection of world music from National Geographic will soon be available to mobile consumers. PlayPhone, Inc. (www.playphone.com), which operates the largest network of mobile content destinations in North America, announced today that it has struck a deal to build a new mobile storefront for National Geographic and to license National Geographic’s content library for mobile distribution throughout its network of sites. This new online destination, National Geographic Mobile, will feature the Society’s award-winning content in the form of video, ringtones, wallpapers, games and more.

National Geographic’s collection is one of the most comprehensive and unique archives of video, photographic images and music in the world. It contains more than 10.5 million photographs, including the Society’s hallmark images of culture, adventure, and nature, as well as renowned international artists from over 100 musical genres. New content releases will be exclusively available on the National Geographic Mobile and PlayPhone (www.playphone.com) sites for a period of time, with content availability beginning later this month.
