As Paris Hilton left the theater where “Paris, Not France,” a documentary about the socialite, premiered this week at the Toronto International Film Festival, she gave a few claps of applause after director Adria Petty was announced for a question-and-answer session .

“I’m basically being judged, and they’re creating this false person, and I can’t do anything about it,” Hilton says in the film.

“It’s amazing that this woman is a human being and that people actually can be ruthless enough to forget that,” Petty said.

Hilton has “created a mystery about herself that a film like this maybe wouldn’t have been a great thing for her in the past,” Petty said. “But now, she’s been so saturated in the media. We’re so used to her. To see a new side of her is so exciting.”

Not perfect, Lynne Spears admits

Lynne Spears says that even knowing what she knows now, she would still let her daughters Britney and Jamie Lynn pursue stardom.

“I think you have to let them follow their dreams,” she says in an interview with People magazine.

But she does express regrets about not listening to her “gut” at times: “Was I the perfect mom? No.”

In an exclusive excerpt from her new memoir, “Through the Storm: A Real Story of Fame and Family in a Tabloid World,” Lynne, 53, details her family’s journey from Kentwood, La., to the harsh international spotlight.

What do her kids — Britney, 26, Jamie Lynn, 17, and Bryan , 31 – think of the book?

She says Britney and son Bryan have yet to read it, but “Jamie Lynn loved the book. ‘”
