Grey New York Appears at the Broadway Flea Market

Posted on: Thursday, 18 September 2008, 15:00 CDT

NEW YORK, Sept. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- For the fourth year in a row, Grey New York is participating in the Annual Broadway Flea Market to benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. The event is Sunday, September 21, from 10:00am to 7:00pm. Shubert Alley and 44th Street, West of Broadway will be closed off.

The Broadway Flea Market brings out the biggest and brightest stars from Broadway, Off-Broadway, dance and daytime television to greet fans and sell showbiz memorabilia at individual stations.

Jerry Saviola, Senior Vice President, Casting of Grey New York, who has been casting actors in advertising for three decades, said, "Our long association over the years with all the generous talent in the performing arts led us to do our part to support such a worthy cause. Besides, it's fun mingling with the stars." Last year, Jerry's Grey team of volunteers raised $10,000.

Grey is the only ad agency invited to participate, joining the casts and company members of dozens of shows, theatrical unions, guilds, producers, local merchants and many others to:

-- Sell costume pieces, autographs, original scripts, rare photographs, vintage Playbills, movie posters, books on the theatre and more -- Staff the Celebrity Table where stars gather to sign autographs and pose for photos with fans in exchange for donations; and -- Participate in the Grand Auction in which singular experiences like walk-on roles in Broadway shows, TV and films await the highest bidder.

During the past 18 years, Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS has contributed more than $72 million in total to AIDS and family service organizations and individuals across America.
