This year ‘s Taggart celebrates its 25th anniversary, and STV is to mark the birthday with a series of events to celebrate the Scottish cop show that has featured nearly all of Scotland’s best actors, and launched plenty of careers.
A documentary, There’s Been Another Murder: 25 Years of Taggart, will air on September 29. Narrated by STV’s Stephen Jardine, it will feature Mark McManus’s first appearance in 1983 to today’s international success story.
The five thirty show on STV will also celebrate with a week- long series of features, starting from September 22, including exclusive footage from the set to give viewers a glimpse behind the scenes.

In October, the show’s cast – Blythe Duff, Alex Norton, John Michie and Colin McCredie – will swap Glasgow’s streets for the glamour of Cannes as they attend the prestigious international television event, Mipcon.
The cast will promote the long-running show, which is broadcast in more than 80 countries across the world, with a photo call against the stunning Riviera backdrop followed by a dinner party for international buyers.
Blythe Duff, who plays Taggart’s DS Jackie Reid, said: ” I’m very honoured to be part of what’s become a real institution over the years.”
