Porn Business Grandad Jailed

AN UNEMPLOYED grandfather who ran a cottage industry copying porn videos as well as top-rated family movies has been jailed for six months.

Stephen McCann had been warned previously that he could find himself behind bars after he pleaded guilty to being in possession of unclassified pornographic films and other DVDs which had fake Walt Disney, Columbia and Warner Brothers logos.

And yesterday a judge at Cardiff Crown Court told the 50-year- old who was in the dock for the first time that there was no alternative.

"Offences like this - producing copies of films like Spiderman 3, Pirates of the Caribbean and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory - strike at the very heart of the film production industry and at jobs," said Judge Christopher Llewellyn-Jones QC.

"I have to bring it home to people that if they do this sort of thing, they are going to go into custody."

Out of 706 DVDs seized when police raided McCann's family home at Bryn Hedd, Gilfach Goch, 96 of them contained adult pornography, some including scenes involving animals. "They were particularly revolting," the judge told him.

McCann, who suffers with diabetes and kidney problems, was said to have been selling the films locally for pounds 2 a time.
