Watch Out for Martians!
YOU have been warned – the War of the Worlds is coming to Liverpool.
The Echo arena is to host Jeff Wayne’s sensational show which mixes music inspired by HG Wells’ novel about Martians invading earth with breathtaking technology.
And Liverpool’s own Jennifer Ellison is one of the stars of the highly anticipated spectacular which makes its arena debut on June 14 next year.
It follows hugely successful and critically acclaimed sell-out tours in the UK, Australia and New Zealand in the past two years.
War of the Worlds – Alive on Stage features international hit singles – ‘The Eve of The War’ and ‘Forever Autumn’; Jeff Wayne will again be conducting The Black Smoke Band and The ULLAdubULLA Strings.
The cast includes Jennifer Ellison as Beth, Parson Nathaniel’s wife and Moody Blues Justin Hayward as The Sung Thoughts of The Journalist.
But the technology has stolen the show in the past and even more mind blowing visions are promised.
Groundbreaking features include an 11-foot high 3D hologram of Richard Burton as George Herbert, The Journalist and a three tonne, 35ft tall Martian fighting machine will fire heat rays at the audience!
Mr Wayne said: “Each tour to our team is a major new challenge, and as a result, slowly, and surely, we add new ingredients.
“We’re most excited about this 30th Anniversary production as I believe we will have raised the bar once again, and hope that we’ll blow away first-time visitors, or those who may have seen TWOTW before.”
