Travel: Man’s the New Movie Star
THE Isle of Man has been hailed as this year's top celebrity location as filming begins for a newBritish comedy, Wild Target.
Island regular and ex-Everyman stalwart BillNighy (pictured) is joining Martin Freeman, Rupert Grint, Rupert Everett and Emily Blunt as filming for the comedy begins.Victor Maynard (Nighy) is a middle-aged, solitary assassin, who lives to please his formidable mother Louisa (Eileen Atkins).
His professional routine is interruptedwhen he finds himself drawn to one of his intended victims, Rose (Emily Blunt).
His infatuation causes chaos and mayhem ensues.
The production, which began its London shoot thisweek, will arrive in the Isle of Man in early October for threeweeks andwill be filming at various locations around the Island, including St John's, Douglas and Ramsey.
Tourismand Leisure MinisterMartyn QuayleMHK, says: "It is fantastic news thatWild Target and other films are using the Isle of Man's beautiful scenery as a background.
"The variety of filming locations is endlesswith a broad range of coastal views, inland villages and historic and contemporary architecture.
"In the past the Island has doubled for places as diverse as London, Ireland and even the Caribbean!"
Wild Targetwill be the fourth film to shoot on the Island this year, following A Bunch Of Amateurs, Me And OrsonWelles and Heartless.
