North Korean Officials Attend Concert to Mark Leader’s Work on Potato Farming

Pyongyang, October 1 (KCNA) - A music and dance performance was given by artistes of the Ryanggang Provincial Art Troupe at the Taehongdan County Cultural Hall on Tuesday to mark the 10th anniversary of the publication of leader Kim Jong-il's famous work "On Bringing about a Signal Turn in Potato Farming".
It was appreciated by Choe Thae-bok, Choe Yong-rim, Kwak Pom-gi, vice-premier of the Cabinet, Pak Nam-ki, department director of the Central Committee of the Korean Workers' Party, leading officials of ministries and national institutions, officials and other working people in the province.
The performance began with female vocal solo and chorus "Taehongdan of 3,000-ri". Its repertoire included female vocal solo "When we walk along the road between fields", male vocal solo and female pangchang "Let's be proud of potato", dance "Spring that visited the base", female vocal solo of folk song "Let's sing of Taehongdan" and female vocal solo and chorus "Oh, My motherland of songun [military-first]".
The performers sang high praises of the immortal exploits of President Kim Il Sung who devoted all his life to the happiness of the people regarding it as his maxim to believe in people as in Heaven and those of Kim Jong-il who visited the county and set forth the policy of bringing about a signal turn in potato farming and wisely led the struggle to implement it.
