Charleston Light Opera Guild Casts ‘The Producers’
The Charleston Light Opera Guild is in rehearsal for “The Producers,” to be presented in late October and November at the Charleston Civic Center Little Theater.
One of the first amateur theater groups in the nation to perform the Mel Brooks-written musical comedy, which received a record- setting 12 Tony awards during its Broadway run, the West Side-based Light Opera Guild has cast John Marshall and Paul Shannon as the leads, Max Bialystock and Leo Bloom, respectively.
Others in the cast include: Anne Marie Snyder, Ted Brightwell, Bob McCarty, Alan Pennington, Caroline Chamness, Jared Brown, Victoria Casey, Jeannie Matras, Susan McKay, Alina Cuadra, Bill Rainey, Aaron Sheppard, Eric Guillickson, Jerry Marsilli, Jeff Bukovinsky, John Valleau, Tim Whitener, Chris Williams, L. Shawn Coleman, Kevin Swafford, Lindsey Duvall, Megan Green, Jamiela Isaiah, Katie Kelsh, Shakira Martin, Toni Pilato and Carly Sadolf.
“The Producers” will be presented at 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, Oct. 31, Nov. 1, Nov. 7, Nov. 8, Nov. 14 and Nov. 15 at the Little Theater. A 3 p.m. matinee also will be performed on Sunday, Nov. 9.
Tickets are $20 each for the show and are available at the Civic Center box office.
